International Access

EFAP, health and wellness and work-life services provided in a ‘glocal’ fashion.

Our approach to international service is from a ‘glocal’ standpoint — a combination of services offered globally and locally. We are global with respect to our worldwide locations and the global nature of our services. We are local because we operate locally with vendor partners, within many countries and regions. Because we have a local presence in these countries, we understand regional practices and expectations and we are keenly aware of cultural differences.

For global domestic employees we offer language-specific EFAP promotion and materials for each country.

International Offerings

24-hour global telephone access

Toll-free, 24 hours-a-day, seven days-a-week access to an in-country service provider who speaks the caller’s native language. The service provider can explain the service, arrange appointments or provide telephone crisis consultation when indicated. A professional call-centre staff member conducts an intake, a triage assessment and schedules an appointment with a local provider.

Face-to-Face Assessment/Counseling

Together, the EFAP service provider and client discuss the problem(s), context, and possible solutions. Short-term counseling is provided if the client’s concerns can be addressed in one to six visits. A majority of clients seen in EFAP counseling resolve their issues within this timeframe. The clinical staff of our provider partners and any affiliate (or network provider) must be capable of assessing and treating a wide variety of personal and mental health problems with diverse populations. Our qualification criteria include the following:

  • Providers must have a degree in a behavioral health discipline from a college or university (e.g. psychiatry, psychology, clinical social work, marriage and family therapy or medicine)
  • Providers must be licensed or registered
  • May include worklife services (country and culture dependent)

Crisis Management Services (CMS)

Overseas deployment of CMS professionals can be included in any expatriate approach. We have the capacity to appear onsite anywhere in the world and provide group and/or individual crisis management services. If required, referral services to additional emergency services will be arranged. We also follow-up our crisis interventions by providing post-traumatic stress counseling for those afflicted with resulting anxieties.
