Craig Thompson

Chief Executive Officer

Craig Thompson is Chief Executive Officer for Homewood Human Solutions™. He brings over 25 years of employee assistance and disability management experience to his leadership role. He is responsible for providing strategic direction for all Homewood Human Solutions™’ business units, and spearheading the company’s growth, market position and expansion. Craig has been with the organization since 2004, and was formerly the Senior Vice President, Strategic Growth.

Led by clinical knowledge and a superlative understanding of how mental health and wellness services are delivered, Craig has spent the last 14 years at the senior executive level promoting new approaches to improve workplace health in Canada and the U.S. Hundreds of North America’s top employers have turned to Craig for sustainable and innovative strategies to address their mental health and wellness challenges.

Recognized for his commitment and contribution to the advancement and continued excellence in EFAP/EAP service delivery, Craig is frequently asked to speak at national conferences. He also offers insight as a member of several industry boards, and for the past five years has been a member of the Health, Work and Wellness Conference Program Committee. His insight is a result of his years of experience as well as his unique blend of hands-on expertise. His career, which includes stays in both Ontario and B.C., has seen progressively responsible roles in a range of areas including as a clinician, clinical manager, account manager, and business development lead at the national level.

Prior to Homewood Human Solutions™, Craig’s track record in senior level positions includes his role as Vice President, Operations and Sales for CHC-Working Well, where he developed and managed national disability management programs, health information services, and a range of behavioural health services. Additionally, Craig brings to the table his work in venture capital, with a specialization in business, operational and sales strategies for the financial and health sectors.

Craig has a Masters in Counselling Psychology from the University of Ottawa, a Masters of Business Administration from the Ivey Business School, and a Certificate in Global Benefits Management from the International Foundation of Employee Benefits Plans.


Judith Plotkin
BSW, MSW

Senior Vice President,
Strategic Operations

Judith has over 20 years of experience in the employee health and wellness arena. She has been with the firm since 2006. In her role as Senior Vice President, Strategic Operations - she heads a team of national sales and marketing professionals. She also leads the development of partnership relationships to advance Homewood Human Solutions™’ strategic business objectives.

Judith’s talent for developing innovative solutions for organizations across North America is an outcome of her years of experience, and her proven track record in senior-level positions with large national and international employee assistance firms. Many of Canada's largest employers have turned to her to help contain rising benefits costs while creating healthier, more effective workplaces.

Judith’s background is a unique blend of clinical, account management and business development expertise. She has worked both as a certified trauma counsellor and substance abuse professional. She is a former board member of the Employee Assistance Program Association of Toronto (EAPAT), and currently sits on the Board of the Employee Assistance Society of North America (EASNA).

As a recognized industry expert, Judith speaks at national conferences, and is frequently called upon by the media to offer opinion on workplace issues and employee mental health. Judith has appeared on CTV, 680 News and CBC Radio One. She has authored several articles for leading industry publications.

Judith holds an undergraduate degree in social work from Ryerson University and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Toronto.


Bruce Lee
MDiv, MBA

Vice President, Standards & Quality Assurance

Bruce Lee is Homewood Human Solutions™’ Vice President, Standards & Quality Assurance. Bruce has been with the company since 2008. Bruce's responsibilities include leading a national team to ensure service delivery quality and measurable program results. His expertise ensures adherence to best practices in accordance with Council on Accreditation standards as developed by the Employee Assistance Society of North America. Bruce also provides senior-level consultation, advice and guidance on a variety of workplace challenges.

Bruce offers over 19 years of experience in quality assurance, customer relations and management consultation. His informative and relaxed presentation style is supported by years of training in communication techniques, business and interpersonal development. He also develops innovative strategies to support mental health education and awareness.

With Bruce’s solid understanding of today's organizational health issues, he is often sought out for his knowledge and expertise in the future direction of employee assistance. As a skilled lecturer, he has been called upon to guest lecture at Canadian universities and government ministries, including Acadia University, the Nova Scotia Ministry of Health and the Nova Scotia Ministry of Community and Social Services.

Bruce’s talent also extends from his clinical background, counselling on family issues, transition and change, stress, dependent care, and palliative care.

Bruce holds his Masters of Divinity focused in counselling from Acadia University and a Masters of Business Administration from St. Mary’s University.


Ann Malain
Ph.D

Vice President, Client Services

Dr. Ann Malain is Homewood Human SolutionsTM' Vice-President Client Services. Dr. Malain is responsible for leading Homewood Human SolutionsTM' national clinical service delivery, and clinical network. She oversees service delivery in three primary divisions: Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) services and Crisis Management Services (CMS);  Organizational Wellness Services; and Employee Health Assessment Services. She also lends clinical expertise to the development of employer mental health strategies designed to increase employee performance and reduce absenteeism.

Dr. Malain is a registered psychologist with more than 20 years experience in EAP, community mental health, psychological assessment and substance abuse treatment. She holds a doctoral degree from the University of Washington. Her areas of expertise include clinical diagnosis, dual mental health/substance abuse assessment and treatment, and clinical supervision. She also has extensive experience with depression, anxiety and the treatment of trauma.

Most recently Dr. Malain was Practice Lead, Psychological Assessment and Treatment Services with Homewood Human SolutionsTM'. Prior to this she directed a university EAP, served as clinical director of a community mental health agency, and directed a domestic violence perpetrator treatment program. Her experience also includes developing substance abuse and dual diagnosis treatment programs within university and community mental health settings. In addition to teaching graduate courses on psychodiagnostics and clinical interviewing at several universities, she has also provided expert witness testimony in legal proceedings and organizational consulting services to a number of organizations. Dr. Malain is a leader in the field of workplace psychology and provides training at regional and national conferences across North America.


Yvonne A. Petkovic

Senior Vice President, Finance & Administration

Yvonne is Senior Vice President, Finance and Administration, for Homewood Human Solutions™. Yvonne has been with the organization since 2004.

She is a multilingual, senior executive who seamlessly integrates the realms of finance, administration and marketing with expertise in the areas of financial, project and operational management, strategic development and implementation, and advertising.

Prior to Homewood Human Solutions™, Yvonne was Manager, Finance and Administration providing strategic management consulting for an aggregate mining start-up, and also Vice President of Corporate Administration and Communications for a high-tech, publicly traded (CDNX) company. Prior to this, she was the Director of Finance and Administration for a Vancouver advertising agency, Dome/FCB Ltd., for eight years, and a Controller for a Vancouver-based environmental consulting firm for three years.

Yvonne has completed Simon Fraser University's Executive Masters of Business Administration program, possesses a Bachelor of Commerce from University of British Columbia (major in Finance) and is a graduate of the three-year Certified Advertising Agency Practitioner Program.


Jacques Sauvageau

Vice President, Organizational Efficiency
General Manager, Quebec

Jacques is Homewood Human Solutions™' Vice President of Organizational Efficiency, Director & General Manager, Quebec Region, and previous Vice President of Operations. Jacques has been with the organization since 1996. He is responsible for overall operational performance, ensuring that dedicated human resources and efficient business systems are in place to support the delivery of Homewood Human Solutions™ services.

Jacques brings over 20 years of employee assistance experience to his role including management positions in professional services, account management, marketing and sales, and business systems. This expertise and industry knowledge supports the highest quality assurance measures, and best outcomes in service delivery.

Since the beginning of his career, Jacques has been successful at doing a variety of things: as a trauma counsellor he has debriefed nearly 300 different critical incidents; as an executive coach he has supported hundreds of top-level managers having to deal with difficult employee or organizational situations; as an account manager he has worked with some of the largest Homewood Human Solutions™ accounts in Quebec and across Canada; and, as a systems designer he has lead national teams in the development of new service modalities and communications.

In addition, Jacques is also an accomplished speaker at local, regional and national forums, sharing insights on numerous health and wellness related topics.

Jacques received his undergraduate degree in Social Work and a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology from Laval University in Quebec.


Marion Yoshida

Vice President, Customer Relations

Marion Yoshida is Homewood Human Solutions™' Vice President, Customer Relations. Marion has been with the company since 2005. Marion has over 20 years experience as an EFAP/EAP professional working within the industry in Canada and internationally. Her clinical background and experience complemented by her business training and management experience, has lead to her success in partnering with large organizations and leading the most effective customer relations teams.

Marion is known for her superior communication, problem-solving and relationship-building skills. She has a proven ability to work at all levels of an organization including senior management, Human Resources, Occupational Health, and front-line managers, in order to develop and grow effective and streamlined EFAP/EAP services.

In addition, she brings a wealth of expertise to the table as a marital and family counsellor, and a critical incident response specialist. Her years of experience working within the health and wellness arena contribute significantly to her understanding of how to support an organization’s EFAP/EAP and broader wellness initiatives.

Marion has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology, a Master of Social Work degree and is a Registered Social Worker.


Francine Bolduc

Vice President, Human Resources

Francine is the Vice-President, Human Resources of Homewood Human Solutions™– a company that she chose because of the difference it makes in improving the life of individuals, organizations and the community at large. Francine has been with the organization since 2010.

Prior to joining us, she has worked in senior HR roles for successful organizations such as VanCity Credit Union, Desjardins Credit Union and the Sutton Place Hotel. Most recently, she led the startup and implementation of the Human Resources division and the building of the culture required to deliver the 2010 Vancouver Olympic and Paralympic Games. She was also instrumental in ensuring that the Games were delivered in both official languages of Canada working with many levels of government and internal stakeholders. She possesses a Bachelor degree in Industrial Relations and is also a designated CHRP member.

Reflecting on her HR experience, she believes that aligning people’s passion with the purpose of an organization is a winning combination. It starts with recruitment and continues with sound management practices to maximize employee’s engagement and productivity. “When employees are engaged, it enhances service levels and ultimately the bottom line” says Francine.
